Imagine RIT 2024
Imagine RIT was the first time we turned our student Toast prototype into something the public could walk up to and play.

At the showcase
Bringing the game
to its audience.
What I did
- I helped the team make the poster, prepare the booth, and gather the hardware we needed.
- I set up and maintained the playable build, explained the demo, and troubleshot problems as they appeared.
- I watched how visitors navigated the game and kept notes for later iterations.
What happened
We built the exhibit without a dedicated event budget and kept demos running through the day. Children in particular stayed with the game, experimenting with its physics and physical comedy.
Field notes
Some children returned to the demo or simply did not want to leave. Watching them immediately understand the game’s sense of humor was both reassuring and very funny.
A playable build is only one part of a public demo. We also had to invent the signage, hardware setup, player flow, troubleshooting plan, and all the small pieces that turn a project into a place people can enter.
