GDC 2025
We returned to GDC with a larger AI2U booth, more playable stations, and a year of experience explaining the game to strangers.

At the showcase
Bringing the game
to its audience.
What I did
- I helped keep the multi-station build stable while the booth stayed busy.
- I guided visitors through demos and talked with other developers about how the AI-character systems worked.
- I moved between playtest flow, technical questions, feedback notes, and character cosplay.
- I worked alongside teammates from development, design, art, and marketing to keep everything moving.
What happened
AI2U received GDC 2025 Best in Play recognition. From where I stood, our booth was consistently busy, which meant a lot of repeated demos—and a lot of chances to notice where my explanation could be clearer.
Field notes
A visitor who worked in psychology saw the escape-room conversations as a possible way to practice communication: the player has to persuade an NPC to open the door. It was an interpretation I had not expected.
The same mechanic can look technical, theatrical, or behavioral depending on who is playing. I also felt the difference a year of booth experience made: our flow, explanations, and teamwork were much calmer.
