At the showcase
Bringing the game to its audience.
What I did
I introduced the game, explained the controls, and guided visitors into the demo.
I helped manage the booth flow, supported the build, and recorded reactions.
I cosplayed one of the characters, connecting the on-screen cast with the physical booth.
I worked with development, design, art, and marketing teammates throughout the three days.
What happened
The crowd responded to the characters before they understood all of the technology. That made the event feel very different from GDC, where conversations often began with how the system worked.
Field notes
We kept a public good-ending / bad-ending board beside the demo. Individual playthroughs gradually became a shared score that people could react to together.
The same game needs a different introduction for a different room. At Anime NYC, immediate character recognition and a more performative presence mattered more than a technical explanation.
